“Mikey is all set,” Alex says.

“What have Beau and Shona told me to offer him?” Brent asks.

“Two hundred thousand up front, and a million if we get the green light first time,” Alex says.

“I don’t think he will try and cross us for that offer on the table,” I say plainly.

Alex is brought up to speed on everything regarding the club as we head back. The place is a hive of activity again as we get out of the car. John walks into the courtyard as Bob and Brent carry his case carefully from the rear of the vehicle.

“You must be Alex,” John says.

“I am, and you must be John?”

“We are almost ready for Mike. Once he has had a good look around tomorrow and Sunday, the guys can get moving first thing on Monday,” John explains.

“Have there been any problems?” Alex asks.

“Not at all, we gutted the electrics and the plumbing, it was just easier to fit new ones, and basically the place was just a shell. All the internal walls just went straight up along with the stage.” John smiles and is happy to tell him about the progress.

“You want to give us a quick tour?” Alex asks.

“Follow me, and welcome to ‘Wonderland.’”

“You know Miss Bell, this will be the first club I’ve looked around,” Bob says.

I smile at him. “You should ask to visit the others, there are some hot girls there you might like.”

Bob looks at me plainly. “I do okay, what are you trying to say?” he asks.

I giggle at his comment. “I wasn’t assuming you hadn’t met a girl. I just thought you could have some fun, some real fun,” I explain.

Bob frowns. “Well, maybe if this is open by the time I’m finished, I could have a look around,” Bob says.

“I tell you what, between you and me, I have to interview some girls, you can join me if you like?” I whisper.

Bob quickly pushes his spectacles up his nose. “You serious?” he says excitedly.

“I am very serious,” I reply.

“That would be so cool.” He grins a very naughty grin.

John leads us through the back, roller shutter door. “All this will be sealed when we are finished, there will be a door, but just like the other clubs, it will remain a secret, so it can only be opened by certain people.”

  Alex nods. “Awesome!”

“We have the eighteen rooms for action. Twenty was just too tight. Then we have the change rooms and the rear of the stage,” John explains.

“Well, that seems pretty standard, and almost finished,” Brent says.

John points up. “The office is up there along with three VIP rooms, and a VIP reception area, so you can see everything from up there,” he explains.

Brent looks puzzled. “Aren’t there offices downstairs?” he asks.

“Only for the gambling part, we actually kept that old office space, but brought it up to code,” he replies.

John opens the door from the club reception on the gambling side of the building. It looks amazing. Extremely finished and ready to use.

“As you can see, this is as good as finished. All we really need are the tables to install. Cameras are in and everything,” he says.

“And the final decorating touches?” I ask.

“Of course, the final decorating, we’re just trying to find some artists who can do some Alice in Wonderland scenes.”

“Don’t forget the playing cards,” I say.

“I have something to show you,” John says. He smiles at me kindly.

He leads us to one side of the area, there are huge panels which are printed with various playing card faces.

“These will be hung from the ceiling, and the doors to the club will also be cards; a king, and a queen,” he says.

We stand in front of the large shutter door and look back into the club. I can sense everyone is impressed. We all turn to the almost silent Bob.

He smiles. “This place will fucking rock!”

“It’s not what you know, it’s what you know about other people that makes the difference.”

  Brent

“Sometimes, getting into bed with the devil may not be such a bad thing.”

“Holy fuck, is this my old place?” Mikey says as he walks through the large doors.

“It is, what do you think of it?’ I ask.

Mikey shakes his head in disbelief. “I would never have thought this was possible.”

  “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

“Where do you want to talk?” Mikey asks.

“Bob is out the back, he’s the one who will be dealing with it to start with.”

“Who the fuck is Bob?” Mikey questions, using his usual, unsentimental tone. “And before we get started, how much am I getting from this deal?”

I look at Mikey and grin. “I told you that you wouldn’t be shortchanged. Two hundred thousand…”

“Cool,” Mikey says. He gives a wide grin.

“I haven’t finished. And one million cash when we get the go ahead from all the officials involved.”

“You have to be kidding me, right?” Mikey looks shocked.

“Come on Mikey, don’t play innocent. You know exactly how much this sort of club can make,” I say.

“I know that, but that’s an overly-generous offer.”

“We can cut it in half if you want,” I say grinning.

“No, no, no, don’t do that,” he replies quickly.

“We just want to make sure you have no reason to cheat us,” I explain.

“I cheat? You must have the wrong person.” He looks at me, now belly laughing.

I lead Mikey through the oversized doors to the club’s reception area. “This can’t be the same place,” Mikey says as he scratches his head.

“You better believe it, we have the stage over there, and eighteen rooms for the hookers.”

“What about VIP? I can’t see an office in here.”

“Look up.” Mikey turns with his back to the stage; his jaw drops as he sees the three VIP suites and the glass front of the office.

“You might have cheated me out of this place, but I feel proud, I could never have dreamed of doing this,” he says.

“It’s been a culmination of efforts, don’t forget there have been nearly ten people putting their ideas into this place,” I explain.

“You know Brent, if you ever want another business, you lot can go into design and development, especially in Vegas.”

“I don’t think so, that sounds too much like hard work,” I reply.

Mikey turns back to the smaller shutter and we walk into the courtyard. He glances up at the two buildings.

“You’ve had these renovated as well?” he asks, stunned.

“Of course, I’ve already moved into the one on the left.”

“Just over a week, it was only just over a week ago,” he says.

“Time flies when you’re having fun,” I say with a huge smile on my face.

“Where is this Bob guy, then?” Mikey asks.

“In the building on the right.”

We walk for a moment. I open the door and Mikey ambles inside the office. He looks at all of Bob’s equipment. Lights are flashing on routers and on electric panels.

“Shit, are you sending a man to the moon or what?” he asks.

“It’s all necessary, apparently,” I say.

“I’m still a fucking pencil and paper guy, and maybe a smart phone thrown in, but Jesus Christ.” He looks absolutely flabbergasted.

“I better introduce you. Mikey, this is Bob.”

“He’s a freakin’ kid,” Mikey yells when he sees Bob.

“Hey, Mister. I just look young for my age. I am definitely not a kid,” Bob replies.

“Well, now you’ve made your introductions, we should get started,” I say.

“What do you want from me?” Mikey asks.

“Just show Bob everything you have and the full list of officials.

“There are ten of them, but the top-ranking ones comes to four, it’s a two-step process,” Mikey says plainly.

“Let’s just start with the eight lower ones, do you have their information?” Bob asks.

Mikey opens his case and pulls out a large brown folder. “This is everything I could find.” He looks at his folder. “I asked around and made notes.”

Bob flicks through the papers, he looks up and pushes his spectacles back up. “Not bad for an old man,” he says smiling.

“Watch it, do you know who I am?” Mikey says.

  “Ahem,” I cough loudly.

Mikey looks up and realizes, he’s basically a nobody at the moment. “Sorry, I forgot myself,” he says to Bob.

  “No worries,” Bob says.

“So, is this information useful for a start?” Mikey asks.

“It will save a lot of time. Can you get any more? Or should I just do what I can?” Bob asks Mikey.

“I hit a brick wall, these eight protect the top four. You can’t get to them without going through these,” Mikey explains, pointing at the highlighted names.

Bob sighs and looks up. “You know what, we better forget these eight, they are just pawns, we should go for the top four straight away.” He smiles. “Once we have them, these eight are nothing. Yep, they will crumble.”

“Bob, I like your way of thinking. I will leave it up to you two,” I say. “I’ll be back in a while.”

Mikey takes the second folder from his case. I begin to walk toward the door as I hear Bob ask Mikey. “You have their cell phone numbers?” Bob says.

“You can trace their calls?” Mikey asks.

“I can trace or find anything.” I smile to myself as I close the door behind me. I walk across the archway and enter the new apartment.

It sounds quiet as I walk up the stairs. I reach the living room, and there is no sign of Bell. I then hear her voice from the bedroom. I walk up the stairs quietly. The bedroom door is slightly open. I push my eye to the gap and see her sitting with her head against the headboard, playing around on her cell phone.

I push open the door and walk inside. Bell puts her finger to her mouth gesturing for me to be quiet. I look at her puzzled because I don’t know who she is talking to. Bell makes a gesture with her hand for a motorcycle, and then for the sexy curves of a woman.

Ah, she is talking to the girls from the bike gang…

Bell frowns every now and again when the person on the phone says something. She finally hangs up the call and throws the cell phone onto the bed. Bell frowns as she looks at me.

  “What’s wrong?” I ask.

“There is a fucking bike show on in Vegas,” she says.

  “So?” I ask.

“That gang we saw, it was Drake and the gang, and they came a few days early. The show is on for four days.”

“So, four days and they’ll be gone?”

“I doubt it, there is another show on a week later, they are staying for that,” Bell says. “They will be in and around Vegas for three weeks.”

  “What about the girls?”

“A few of them are here already. Janey who I’ve just spoken to, she’s willing to leave, and she’s going to talk to a few of the others,” Bell explains.

“So, we might have a handful for the club?”

“Yeah, I have to meet Janey in a day or so, but she says they can’t leave while they’re in Vegas, they need to do it when they are back at the clubhouse,” Bell explains.

“That won’t be a problem, we can get a vehicle close by. Maybe Ty can sort that out for us,” I say.

“Yeah, he knows the clubhouse really well. Drake wanted me to fuck Ty when he delivered guns to the club,” Bell says.

I look at her. “Did you?” I ask.

“Hell no, he was with Cally, there’s no way he would have done anything like that.”

“He has seen you naked, though?”

“Topless, most of the time in the club we had our tits out, even when playing pool.”

“Enough of all that, it’s in the past,” I say.

“How are Mikey and Bob getting on?” Bell asks as she slides from the bed.

“Okay now, they had a couple of differences, mostly from Mikey thinking he was older, thinking he knew more,” I say. “Bob shut him down, and I had to remind him why he was here.”

“Fingers crossed they can make some headway,” Bell says.

“They have decided to start right at the top rather than at the bottom. If we get them, we have all of them.”

“I have a feeling cash is not an issue, we have to get them in a situation that will harm their careers,” Bell says.

“How long are Drake and his gang here for?”

“Three weeks, I just told you that, silly!” Bell rolls her eyes at me.

“I wonder if Drake wants to make a lucrative deal, one so tempting, it could just solve all of our problems,” I say.

Bell sits on the edge of the bed deep in thought. “You know Brent, what better way to harm your career than being mixed up with some bikers.”

I smile at Bell. “That was my thought on it, exactly,” I reply.

“Drake is no fucking pushover though, his kids are idiots, but he is pretty fucking smart,” Bell says.

“We just have to be upfront with him, if we try and hide anything, he is going to get curious,” I say.

“If we get him in the right place with the city officials, they will be shoving their heads so far up their own asses trying to hide,” Bell explains.

“I wouldn’t want to be linked to gun-running, taking coke, selling drugs, and fucking biker chicks,” I say.

Bell looks at me sharply. “I hope you realize, I was a biker chick!”

  “Yes, but you’re different…”

  “DARLING!!” she adds definitively.

“Sometimes, getting into bed with the devil may not be such a bad thing.”

  Bell

“You can’t recognize good times if you don’t remember the bad ones.”

Brent was out with Alex, and I had arranged to meet Janey and a few of the girls from the club. Janey had told me that Drake had gone on a ride into the desert and would be gone for a few hours. Now, I could keep my promise to Bob and show him a good time, or at least let him know what a good time could entail.

There was a rundown bar on the outskirts of town that we had arranged to go to. Bob and I arrive in a cab. We both saunter across the parking lot. Bob looks slightly nervous as we approach the door of the Double Eight Saloon.

  “What’s wrong?” I ask.

“I have never really been to a place like this,” Bob says.

“They are my friends, what can go wrong?” I say.

I push open the door. Country and western music blasts from an old jukebox that sits against the wall. I will have to change that to something more appropriate…

“What do you want to drink?” I ask Bob.

“I’m not really a big drinker,” he replies.

I lean on the bar. “I think you better stick to lite beer.”

The bartender walks up to us and throws his towel over his shoulder. “Hey kid, you old enough to be in here?” he asks.

Bob sighs and pulls out his identification, he slams it on the bar. “I just look young for my age, is there a law against that?” Bob snaps.

“I have to check, I can get in so much trouble for letting minors in here,” the barman says.

Bob turns around. He looks back at the barman. “Half of the ones in here look too young,” he says sarcastically.

The barman laughs. “Well, as long as I ask, how do I know if an ID is real or fake?”

The barman slaps two bottles and a shot of whiskey on the bar. We make our way to a table over by the pool tables. “I’ll be back in a moment, I’m just going to change this awful music,” I say.

Bob cleans his glasses on his shirt and nods at me. Well, I think he is nodding at me. I’m not sure how well he can see without hi
s glasses. I get to the jukebox and flick through the choice of music.

I walk back to the table as the last country and western song plays. Now the music is really kicking. I down my whiskey and play some air guitar in front of Bob, he giggles and blushes slightly.

“Don’t tell me you’ve never played air guitar?” I ask.

  “Not really,” he replies, embarrassed.

“Come on have a go. Just hold your hand out as if you’re holding a guitar, wiggle your fingers as if you’re typing on your keyboard,” I say. “And now shake your head.”

I want to burst out laughing, Bob headbanging with short hair doesn’t really work, especially with his spectacles sliding off his nose.

The door opens and I hear Janey’s voice shouting as they approach the bar. She turns and can see me waving at her. The five girls she has with her walk sexily between the tables. All the guys turn their heads toward them as they approach our table.

“How have you been?” Janey asks.

“You won’t believe how much has changed,” I reply.

Janey throws her arms around me and gives me a huge hug. She sits back up and caresses my breasts.

“I see you’ve still got these beauties,” she says.

Janey looks at Bob who has gone a wonderful shade of pink. “Who is this cutie?” she asks.

“This is Bob, he works with me,” I say.

“He doesn’t look very old,” Janey whispers.

“He looks young for his age,” I whisper back.

  “So, who have you brought?

“Things have changed, Drake had a clear out and he found some of the girls were using,” Janey explains.

“I see we have Alice, and Jemma, but the other three are new to me,” I say.

“We have Britney, Clare, and Susan, they’ve been there a little over a month, but they are a bit fucking sick of the place,” Janey says.

“Well, they look okay for the club, but it would be better to see them without their jackets. Don’t you agree Bob?”

Bob is transfixed on the girls. It’s like he’s never seen a female this close in the flesh, ever before. I was starting to think his glasses were steaming up, but that might just be a trick of the light.
