“How can you focus when passion is blinding you?”

Same situation different place, or you could say, “Same shit, different day.” I had done it again, I had done the same thing in Las Vegas, and now all over again.

It was never my intention, it just hits me, and I go all crazy. It just takes a couple of things to be in place, and I do it. I have no idea why or how it starts, but it does.

We had arrived. Conor, Mike (the builder guy) and me. We had stepped off the plane in Jamaica, and we had a mission to accomplish. Christ, we had a few weeks to turn a small hotel and club into a world class venue, something along the lines of the club that Beau and Shona had back in the city. In good old America.

Shona, my beloved cousin, how could I let her down so soon?

The first week and a bit had gone as planned. Conor had started to go through the back end of the operations, and Mike (the builder guy) had already found the ideal spot to build the new club. The hotel had come complete with an old stable complex away from the main building.

As soon as Mike had seen the three barns and the outbuildings his eyes had lit up, this was to be his “pièce de résistance.” What looked like a stable complex on the outside, would in fact be a great place to hide a club that any worldwide party goer would crave to visit. And not just a dance club; this would have dance shows, and girls… real girls. Girls who can make all a guy’s dreams come true in the space of a couple of hours.

This wouldn’t be anything like an average titty bar back home, or anything like Hedonism that was situated on the other side of the island. This was going to be “THE” place.

Things had started well. Mike had located a local group of builders and craftsmen who were up to his usual standards, and he had sourced truckloads of materials. Twenty-four-seven construction had been going on, the stables had been gutted, and the inner-most sound-proofing and insulation was almost completed.

I had been tasked with transforming the service of the hotel from a casual stopping place, to somewhere that exuded excellence and opulence. This had started superbly. Half of the rooms had been made for casual guests; the ones who wanted to take advantage of the girls’ favors from the club. That meant that anything you wanted you could have. Within reason, and for a price, of course. That was the simple rule of the house.

And then it happened. We just had to visit the club that was already running on the hotel grounds. This was just a regular club, with no real dance shows or rooms out the back to enjoy your wildest desires. It was just a club to have fun.

Conor and Mike wanted to let it all go, they had worked hard for the past ten days and needed a release.

“Bejesus, this island is fantastic,” Conor says over the loud music.

“First time in the Caribbean I take it?” I reply.

“It is, I have only ever been to Ireland and the USA,” Conor shouts back.

“You will see the girls are of a different class here,” I reply.

“You’re not fucken kidding, they are wearing next to fuck all.” Conor is eyeing up a slim, local girl. “A guy could cream his pants just watching them dance.”

Mike was a little more subtle; he appeared to be quiet. Or at least he seemed quiet on the outside. We soon find out he has an insatiable appetite for threesomes, for two girls and him.

Mike wanders back from the bar with a huge cocktail, three straws placed around the rim of the glass bowl. Mike sits at the table and a few minutes later (and with a quick wave of his hand) two girls appear. They look like they’re in their twenties and they approach his table. I see Mike likes contrast, he’s picked a dirty blonde who has rose-tinted skin from the sun she’s been lying in, and a dark-skinned girl who is obviously from the island… and out to make the most of the guys she hooks up with on vacation.

Conor sits watching, his mouth slowly falling open as the girls drape themselves over Mike. They all sip from the glass bowl, the girls laughing and flicking their tongues over the ends of the straws.

“Fucken hell, he is gonna be dead in the morning,” Conor says.

“I am sure he knows what he is doing,” I reply, laughing.

“Just look at the ass on that girl, imagine that jiggling in your face,” Conor says, laughing loudly.

Our attention goes back to the throng of club goers on the dance floor and by the bar. Conor spies on the girl he has taken a liking to. I see her standing at the bar and looking toward Conor. He stands and then walks across the dance floor. He leans on the bar, and the girl st
arts running her fingers down his chest.

I sit watching and enjoying the sights and the sounds. It’s not exactly Vegas, but the vibe is totally different. Everyone seems to be chilled out.

In Vegas, there are loads of people who have get rich quick aspirations, and most of these are tacked onto the back of gambling habits. I know, it had got the better of me on many occasions. And one of those occasions was now.

I had resisted for nearly a week, but a bank account that seemed to have an almost endless supply of cash was too much of a temptation. There were card games that were going on around the clock, that was when you knew where to look. A week, nearly a week. I had done well. I had been smart though, I made sure that Mike had enough cash for the construction, which would be stupid if I had left that short. The problem was, I hadn’t thought about online banking. Conor was reporting directly to Shona, and he was keeping tabs on everything.

As always, I thought I could win it back, but no such luck for me again. I had fucked up big time. And to make it worse, I had done a lot of this to impress a girl… not just any girl, this was for Brooke.

Brooke had been at the hotel for nearly a fortnight, but she was due to stay here for a total of two months. I had seen her around the pool area, and I could see in her eyes that she was taken with me. What girl wasn’t? That was perfect… when I wanted them to be. But Brooke was different, she was a tough cookie and was playing hard to get, and I think that was why I had gone off the rails and totally lost it.

Conor walks back over to the table with the girl clutching at his fingers.

He smiles as he sits. “This is Abby.”

“Hi Abby, pleased to meet you,” I say.

Abby smiles shyly and sits with her back firmly against the bench seat. Conor throws his arm around her neck and starts whispering sweet nothings into her ear. She seems to be warming to Conor’s Irish charm and his good looks.

I run over in my mind how I can get the money back. If I just take some of the construction money, I am sure I will be lucky?

I was in a world of my own for a moment, and the music stopped. The dance-floor crowd thinned, and there she was at the bar. Brooke. She stood sipping from a tall glass. I lift my gaze and look at her. Her long, fair, slender legs go all the way to the short skirt she is wearing. My eyes follow the curve of her tight ass and the curve of her body. Her breasts silhouette from the lights behind the bar.

I see her sipping from her glass, and she is looking at me from the corner of her eye. My eyes fix onto her. Silently, we communicate with each other. I can sense there is something there. That spark, the tiger hunting its elusive prey, but being given a merry chase.

I know she wants me, but she is cautious. I sit and think of who is actually the hunter. Is it me? Or is Brooke the huntress who is leading me into a false sense of security before she pounces?

I don’t really care if it is me being hunted, I want her, and I know she wants me to have her. The problem is, she drives me fucking nuts, and it’s all her fault that I have got myself into this position. Damn you, Brooke, I was doing so well. I feel my dick rise in my pants. This is a hunger I need to alleviate.

“How can you focus when passion is blinding you?”

  Brooke

“Lust can be a real bitch, it leads a man to your promised land.”

I had seen him walking around the pool on several occasions. He strutted around as if he owned the place. This was not true, I had asked around and found out he was the cousin of the owner. Either way, he seemed to be a nice guy, even if he was full of himself. You know the type; looks great and thinks they are more than that.

I’d seen him watching me every chance he had. I liked him looking at me, it was more than okay, but in truth, I was looking at him just as much. His gorgeous dark hair and his bedroom-naughty, steel-gray eyes, they just melted women when he looked at them a certain way.

I had seen them in action around the pool, when he had talked to the guests. And no matter what age they were, they had gone from what seemed to be confident girls and women, to gibbering wrecks of wanting. Just from talking to him. Unreal.

It would take more than a look from those eyes to get into my panties, I knew that for certain. I was much stronger than that. It was close though, I had found myself biting my bottom lip and thinking of myself writhing and bucking under his body on a few occasions.

The days had been easy to control, but at night I had seen him strolling around the hotel complex, and that was a different thing altogether. I had no other recreational activity that was better than looking at him. The thoughts had welled up inside until I could find something to take my mind off of his gaze.

A tall drink full of ice cubes had been my solution. I could shove a cube in my mouth to divert my thoughts away from him. It wasn’t natural to want it that bad. To want him that much.

I was sure I could have him when I wanted, but he thought I was his prey. But, this was not true and he would be mine when I wanted. It would be my decision of when and where, or that was what I kept telling myself, for now. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it was fate or a mistake that I went to the club. I had no idea he would be there. I walked in and stood at the bar. The dance floor was full. I could see some really sexy moves going on, many coming from the local girls who were dancing with the single guys. Most of those guys had come on vacation for some naughty, adult fun.

It was quite hot to see; all the pussies being rubbed on thighs to the sound of the thumping music. In a way, it’s much more of a thrill than watching a staged porn film.

The music fades, and a few of the dancers make their way back to their tables. I pick up my glass and take a sip. That was when I saw him sitting at one of the larger tables. I try not to openly stare, and instead, I peek from the corner of my eye. I can see he is with another guy who has his arm around a younger, local girl. Then there’s another guy, he’s the one I’ve seen with a pencil wedged firmly behind his ear most of the day. He looks to be enjoying himself with two girls sitting extremely close to him.

I look into my glass and notice I don’t have any ice cubes to chomp on. I look up and see the barman is busy. Shit, I only have my own defenses to stop myself from being drawn to him. Please don’t come and talk to me. Please. Do. Not. Come. And. Talk. To. Me.

I can’t turn away, ugh… body language. He will know that I feel something. I’m sure he is smart enough to know that. I can’t walk out, that is a sure sign I am attracted to him.

Grin and bear it, just keep calm.

I hear the music getting louder again. The dance floor starts filling. I have the urge to raise my arms and shout and sing, but the night is still young. To be honest, I’m not sure how many ice cubes I can shove in my mouth over the course of an evening.

I see a chance to turn my face away from the dance floor. I spin on my stool and catch the attention with the barman. Keep him talking…

“How long have you worked here?” I ask.

The barman starts pouring my drink. “About two years, it does go by quick sometimes, but I hear dat da new owner is building a place dat will be busy all year,” the barman explains.

“That will be much better for everyone who works here,” I say.

“It will, dis part of da island only has limited tourism, so a place dat is all year ‘round will certainly boost da lives of di locals,” he replies. The barman hands me my drink. “You sure you want dat many ice cubes in your glass?” he asks.

“Yeah, I have a bit of a liking for crunching ice.” I smile.

“You do know, da guy da new owner has sent is watching you.” The barman tilts his head toward the dance floor.

“I have noticed, I just don’t want to look back at him,” I say, now grinning.

“I can see why, he is a good-looking guy, all da girls keep looking at him, but I see he only has eyes for you,” the barman says. He gives a wide, kind smile.

“That is my problem, I don’t just want to be another mark on his card for
holiday romances,” I reply.

The barman smiles again. “Da way he is looking at you, dat is no holiday romance look,” he says.

  “What is your name anyway?”

  “Akoni.”

“That is really traditional, what does it mean?” I ask.

“It means, someone who has leadership qualities and is brave,” Akoni replies.

  “Is that right?”

“I tink it is all bullshit, I work behind da bar in a club, where is my leadership quality?” Akoni says, laughing loudly.

“Maybe the new owner will see something in you, you could get promoted.”

“It would be about time, I ‘ave been here longer dan anyone,” Akoni says.

“If I have chance, I will put in a good word for you,” I say.

“Speak to da guy, maybe he can say sometin?” Akoni says.

“God, I love your accent. I will when I have a chance.”

Akoni leans over the bar. I see the whites of his eyes as he whispers and says, “I tink you ‘ave da chance now, he is walking dis way.”

“Crap, don’t go too far away, I might need your help,” I say plainly. My stomach jumps with butterflies.

“I will get you some more ice cubes,” he says. He walks to the far end of the bar.
